Some updates on Sang Lan. The Chinese government is showing support to her and saying that she may stay in US as long as needed.

Ioana Judic(Thank you Ioana !) contributed an interesting article that reviewed what the Romania Press had to say about the Goodwill Games, it also provides some "inside" info for those who watched the GWG on TBS. Enjoy.

Uneven bars final

"One of the few things that couldn't be affected by the extremely biased judging was Khorkina's evident superiority. Simona Amanar and Elise Ray initially received the same score -9.600 but, later on, the American coaches filed a protest. The judges immediately changed her score to a 9.7. "This is not right. They're taking advantage of the home crowd and they just changed the score", Nadia Comaneci said. Corina Ungureanu finished 4th with a 9.575, but her routine was at least equally good as Ray's. However, Simona was extremely surprised by her third placefinish on the uneven bars, which is her least favorite apparatus. "I haven't won a medal on the uneven bars since the European Championships in Birmingham ", explained Simona. Octavian Belu wanted to reiterate the problems faced by the gymnasts when changing the time zone "It was obvious. It was our fourth day since we arrived in the US and the Romanian gymnasts weren't the only ones who were tired. The Chinese women had many falls, one of their gymnasts [Sang Lan] fell on the vault and was paralized".

Simona said she isn't happy with her performance, but she she was extremely tired after the "bacalaureat" exam,"I didn't have enough time to prepere for the Goodwil Games. I only went to one training session. Besides, we had to compete just one day after arriving in New York". (The interview is from "Pro Sport", one of the newer sports magazines from Romania.) Corina Ungureanu added "We're very upset about the judging atthe Goodwill games. Belu was right when he wanted to pull us out of the competition."

Goodwill Games is finally over, I have learned much about the fans of gymnastics during the past 15 days...Anyway here is the last articel about Sang Lan in which she talks about support, recovery, and DiCaprio.

DiCaprio visit Sang Lan for an hour on the 30th and she is expected to remain in the US for another 2 month. And she had been told by the doctors that she might never walk again, please continue to keep her in your pray. For the article, click here.

DiCaprio decided to go visit Sang Lan, it must have been a dream come true( maybe not quite a dream since appearently she hasn't seen the movie yet, so she might be as crazy as some of the girls who've seen the moive). Here is the article....

Here is another article on Sang Lan titled, Paralyzed gymnast yearns to see Leonardo DiCaprio. A common for a teenager, but (even though no one cares) if I get the choice, it would not be DiCaprio. I am sure most of you wouldn't have picked DiCaprio either.

Gymnastics competition is over at the Goodwill Games, so there for I'll just be updating the condition of Sang Lan and add anything new that comes up at the rest of the Goodwill Games. Sang Lan's Parents had arrived Unite States and had visit Sang Lan already. Her parents accepted an interview from TBS and here is a report on it. I hope you all enjoyed these reports on Goodwill Games, I've learned a lot in the process of updating this section each day. One of them is, updating a website daily can kill a person brain. Another one would be,"it's not worth it!". So that's my final thoughts from the Goodwill games. Thank you all for visiting , come back soon!
